Dear Readers,
So awhile back we did a preliminary task and a professional named Axel, who's filmed in movies such as Star Wars came to analyse our videos and showed us how to do it properly:
Here is what he said about my movie:
- Framing between Shot/Reverse Shot is different heights
- Cut away before she sat down
- Over lap – film more than needed
- Fill the frame more
- Same distance from both people on the match on action
But general things I gained from other videos:
-
Headroom – esp.
Midshots, fill the frame with subject, no dead area to side or top. More figure.
-
Follow character –
move the camera to fill frame always.
-
Reverse Shot /Shot
– drop down more so inline with eyes and match the head/frame sizes
-
Downward shot –
gives power to other characters
-
Work camera all the time – tilts, pan. NO optimum setting
-
180-degree rule – finish pan when stop
walking.
-
Use of frame –
fill the frame
-
Hollywood cut
When we did it again, here are the shots that we should of took:
 |
Match to the first wide shot in height |
 |
Here is a wide shot |
 |
Close up, match the eyeline |
 |
Over the shoulder |
 |
Match the eye line, don't even need
2nd person. |
So until next time people... Bye!
