My Real Thing - Choosing Music

Dear Readers,

So music these days are all under the copyright laws... ugh! So i needed to find some music from websites that have their music freed from the copyright laws... not illegals ones, But some such as:

http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/
http://www.noisetrade.com/gracefulclosure/rv
http://freemusicarchive.org

and so on... There are many!

A few songs I picked off http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ were:

Scoring: Horror Themes by Kevin MacLeod
 - Awkward meeting
 - Classic horror 3
 - Fire prelude

Royalty free by Kevin MacLeod
 - Bent and Broken

Also I recorded by own jack in the box music, foxes, breathing and drumming.

I may not use all these songs but they are varied so I can adapt my music easily to my film opening.

Until next time friends...bye!

My Movie planning - In house scenes

Dear Readers,

Companies thats choose to film in a house usually go for ones thats have ample off-street parking and offer large rooms with plenty of natural light.

Well my own film location will be my house and the main room does have plenty of natural light, however, because of the numerous number of windows - i have to be careful i don't accidentally shoot a scene where you can see my reflection!

Although i do have one problem, my movie will be set in the night/evening which will cause problems to my natural light. So i will have to use artificial lighting - however, i do have over 36 lights in my kitchen all of which dim and create different settings hopefully reducing reflections.

My Movie planning - Actors

Dear Readers,

The three roles are:
- Babysitter
- Child
- Killer

Auditioning

After auditioning an extensive amount of people, I statically chose people I knew would fit the parts well and carry of the natural look!

Auditioning was held in Chalfont St. peter Parish Hall @ 7:00 till 3:00:
7:00 - 9:30 = Babysitter
9:45 - 12 = Child
12:15 - 3:00 = Killer

Adverts were put in shop windows and up on local town boards. Also - word of mouth spread around the school so the turn out of actors was big.

Choosing

After sitting through 8 hours of auditions I finally made my decision:
- Babysitter - Lori Freeborn, aged 18, Chalfont Community College
- Child - Lily Marshall, aged 8, St Marys School
- Killer - Paul Marshall, aged 48, Adult

I chose these because Lori Freeborn is studying A-level drama plus having done GCSE drama she will be able to fit the part perfectly whilst also taking part in shows and drama classes outside of school.
Lily Marshall is always being chosen for main parts in school productions plus attending acting school she's perfect for the part.
Paul Marshall is not an actor but he can pull off the creepy older man vibe, His height and build is the perfect physic for a killer.

My Movie planning - Props

Dear Readers,

Props for my movie that are needed are:

  • Newspaper
  • Jack in the Box
  • Knife
  • Mask
  • Pencil Case (back prop)

1. The Newspaper is just a normal newspaper but on of the pages with be different (edited) with my own newspaper headings and pictures such as here i have written an article that foreshadows the killing to come:

2. Jack in the Box is already got for as this is a clever little present from our killer that foreshadows his Jack killings - here the same Jack in the box as the one i have acquired:

3.  The knife will come from the inspiration from 'Pretty little liars' with the typical carving knife as its big and scary - typical shape for a horror. (I've chosen to use knife 4)

4.  The mask is a stereotypical item in a good thriller as it add the sense of mystery and the big unveiling etc... typical one include such like:

The SAW Mask                      The Anonymous Mask                    The Scream Mask

However due to copyright laws and the pure fact you cannot take an iconic mask and use it in you own movie i will using my own mask which is simple white one yet is very scary in the fact it is unknown.

until next time... bye!
